10/10! Weather is a bit forecasted today in San Jose so that called for some hot soup. Menu is online via QR code on table. Food was delicious and totally was what we were looking for. Do get their Wonton in hot oil, Lanzhou Hand Pull Beef Noodle, Braised Beef Soup Noodles, Spicy Pork Spear Rib Soup Noodle and their chicken chow mein. We will be back!

I've been missing out by not coming here earlier despite living so close by. You come here for the handmade noodles and they do not disappoint. Great chew and hefty portions. The braised pork is very flavorful and tender. The broth for the Dan Dan noodles tastes very clean with the right amount of spice. Also, the steamed egg made for a nice appetizer (only $4!). The space is a lot bigger than i expected, and the servers are very attentive. Would recommend!

Disclaimer: would have been 5 stars but had to take a star off because there were flies flying around inside the restaurant/over our food/table... =( We came across this restaurant on Yelp while looking for a dinner place nearby my son's sports practice location. I was a bit surprised at how large/clean/bright this space is because it looks much smaller on the outside! Their main star is Lanzhou hand-pulled noodles and they're SUPER delicious! Beef noodle soup is also a big hit with our kids. Their ultimate menu item, however, is green onion pancakes...these are literally THE BEST/MOST crispy pancakes I have EVER had in my whole life! (and I'm the kind of person that ALWAYS orders green onion pancakes every chance I get!) They have these super cute kid plates and utensils that our kids loved. I also love that they have scissor at every table for convenience. Their service is good and food doesn't take too long. Definitely would come back again (we have been a few times so far already) if we're ever in the area!

This is where I go when I just want to inhale noodles & fill up on carbs. My favorite dishes are the Lanzhou hand pull beef noodles and the spicy crawfish noodles. I always have to get the cucumber salad too. The portions are huge for me, and the staff is super friendly!

Great selection of noodles, from thin to wife flat, hand pulled and knife cut noodles Soup noodles dishes with wide noodles do not absorb flavors so noodles end up being bland. Chow mein is more flavorful. The pigs ears is really good, must try. The XLB was disappointing. No soup in some and bland overall. Def a place to revisit for their noodle dishes.

Where in the WORLD do these flavors come from?? My goodness, that was an amazing meal we just had. There aren't many fresh noodles places, so I knew I had to try this place eventually and I'm glad we did. Highland noodles is a northern Chinese restaurant, so you'll see alot of noodles, dumplings, meats with cumin and other strong, bold flavors. They are also known to have spicy food, the kind that makes your mouth numb; they actually call it spicy numb, haha but don't worry, no ER visit will happen at the end of this meal. We ended up getting the numb spicy beef chewy noodles and it was the best dish we ordered. Spicy and heavy in bold flavors, the noodles were freshly made and so chewy. The beef was marinated with something that tasted like satay and cumin. The entire dish is sautéed with sliced up pepper, green onions amongst other things. 10/10! We also ordered the beef noodle soup, which as great too but if you're eating it with the above dish, you will feel this dish lacked flavor haha. The beef chucks were tender and fell apart with a fork. Fresh knife cut noodles too. Get the steamed eggs with minced pork. It's only $3.99!

I love spicy handpulled noodles so this place had been on my list for a while! It's quite nice and spacious inside, contrary to the outside. Chicken Stir-Fried Noodle: 5/5 This was my favorite noodle dish out of the two that we ordered. The noodles were still dense and chewy and they really soaked up the sauce they were stir fried in. The bean curds and chicken pieces were delicious additions. Lanzhou Hand Pull Beef Noodle: 3/5 Compared to the stir fried noodles, these noodles lacked in flavor and spice. This dish came with a side of soup. Deep Fried Milk: 4/5 Crispy, sweet, and delicious! There was sugar sprinkled on top but I think it would've been perfect if there was condensed milk to dip it in. Overall, I would definitely come back for the stir fried noodles and to try the other items on the menu!

2nd time here, we had such a great experience the previous time, we decided to give it a go and try some new options. We repeated the 'Jalapeño and scrambled eggs with wide flat noodles', you need to try this one. Next up we had the 'numb spicy beef flat noodles', lived up to its name! Great spice level (medium hot) , very flavorful and yes, it definitely numbed the mouth! Will do this one again. Just fyi, the noodles are 18-20 inches long! You will use the scissors (or struggle mightily) Finally we had the 'fry lamb skewers' covered with cumin and chili powder, absolutely fantastic... very tasty, not overwhelming on either the spice or meat fronts, worth the order. Service was pleasant, fast and efficient. Had a challenge with the QR menu for placing the order, the waiter came right over and got us squared away. Lots of tables, clean and nice decor. Overall a solid spot worth the drive from deep in the South Bay.

Oodles and oodles of noods! No shortage here for crave-able soups and the spicy, dry sautéed variety. Eats: *Spicy Beef Flat Noodles *Dan Dan Noodle Soup w/ wide flat noods *Braised Beef Noodle Soup *Chilled Cilantro Beef Salad *Cold Bean Curd Salad *Spicy Shredded Potato Salad *Shrimp Chive Pork Pan Fried Dumplings *Cucumber Salad My fave was the braised beef noodle soup. So comforting with the distinct scent of star anise ahh and it wasn't spicy. Bean curd salad was so yum, tossed in sesame oil. Can't go wrong with pan fried dumplings & cucumber salad! We didn't get the spicy crawfish noodle soup (ahem, someone forgot to order it) but we'll try that next time! Busy on Friday nights but food comes out fairly quickly as soon as each item is prepared.
